Next Steps for Adults Pastor

Jim was born and raised in Havertown PA and has a Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science from Temple University. He also has a Masters in Bible from Lancaster Bible College. Prior to coming on staff at LCBC, he worked as an engineer building automated manufacturing equipment. After having solved many manufacturing issues all over the world, Jim says that the hardest thing to fix or maintain is yourself and your closest relationships.

Jim and his family began attending LCBC in 1998, when they moved from New Jersey to Lancaster County due to job change. He began teaching the Foundations class and later joined the Board of Elders. In 2004, he transitioned from engineering to become the Next Steps Pastor at LCBC. In his role he oversees LIFE Groups, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Compass Classes, ALPHA, Guest Services, Care Ministries and Singles Ministry. The common thread through all of these environments is the desire to see people take the next positive step in their spiritual journey.

Jim is married to Elaine and they have four sons: Justin, Joshua, Jacob and Jesse. He’ll tell you that one reason he enjoys cutting the grass is because it’s the only time he gets uninterrupted think time. Despite the career change, he is still a geek and not ashamed of it. Pleasure reading is usually either history or classics (free on a kindle) and best of all is the history of technology!
