LCBC Story
In the fall of 1986, a dream was brewing in the hearts and minds of a group of approximately 40 individuals who were regularly meeting to pray in one family’s garage. They began to dream about a new church in Lancaster County - one that would attract people who didn’t like church, a church that would reach out to the many people disconnected from God and speak the language of future generations, a church people would want to bring their friends to.
From that dream, Lancaster County Bible Church was birthed. No longer meeting in a garage, LCBC now meets in three different counties, on three different campuses with over 9,000 people in attendance each weekend.
In the fall of 2006, as we officially changed our name to LCBC - Lives Changed By Christ - plans were announced and funds were raised to build a 60,000 square foot addition to house kidMin and student environments. The new plans also call for the launching of several new LCBC “campuses” throughout south central PA. We opened the doors of our Harrisburg campus in 2007, which is now located off of Chambers Hill Rd. in Harrisburg. Early 2010 brought the introduction of our third campus in Lancaster City located at Liberty Place Conference Center.
At our locations outside of Manheim, our overall approach is to replicate the LCBC model with one look, one voice, and one message through the use of live worship and a high definition video message taped at the Manheim campus. Our approach is to have one church in multiple locations. But the locations do no exist to provide a comfortable place for those that were making the trek to Manheim each week, we exist for our friends and neighbors who would never make that trip, and yet need to hear the life changing message of Jesus’ love for them.
Beyond our desire to impact south central Pennsylvania, LCBC is actively involved around the world in an attempt to change one community on each continent of the world. We are currently working in Africa, Europe and North and South America.
As we imagine the future, our goal remains for each of us to move one step closer to God. And as we move closer to God and connect with Jesus, lives are changed, allowing us to continually be Lives Changed By Christ.
