Becoming a Good Samaritan

John Ortberg

If your LIFE Group needs a little “shove from God” to become less inward and look more toward your community, this curriculum will definitely spur you on to have eyes to see and a heart ready to respond to the needs and realities awaiting us.  The 6 sessions are approximately 30 minutes each, with optional extended stories if your group chooses. There is input from over 50 well-know Christian Leaders that makes this study very diverse and interesting.

The Session Titles are:
1. Becoming a Good Samaritan Who is my Neighbor?
2. Caring for the Sick How to Fight Global Epidemics & Prevent Diseases
3. Seeking Justice and Reconciliation How Fairness Changes People, Communities & Nations.
4. Honoring the Poor How Best to Serve those in Need
5. Tending to God’s Creation Why Environmental Stewardship is Biblical & Beneficial
6. Loving the Forsaken How to Care for the Disabled, Orphaned & Incarcerated
There is a leader guide available as a printable resource within the start>Resources section of the DVD.  Participant’s Guides can be purchased or you can use the one we include with the DVD to share with your Group and return with the curriculum.

In a world struggling with poverty, AIDS, racism, genocide, child slavery, the disenfranchised (widows, orphans, and the disabled), and the environment, how can churches motivate the millions of potential Good Samaritans sitting in their pews to get involved?  Love your neighbor, change the world. John Ortberg encourages “front-line” experts including Gary Haugen, Bishop Desmond Tutu, and Chuck Colson to weigh in. An unprecedented program created to help us live out Christ’s love in world-changing ways, right now, right where we live.
