Discussion Starter: Tell the group about a time growing up you got in trouble for being dishonest.

Connect with God: Read Proverbs 1:2-6;25-27 and 6:12-19

1. What do the passages say? 

2. What are observations you can make from the passages?

3. How can you apply these passages to your life? 

4. What do you need to pray about after reading these passages?

Connect with Others:

- Why do you think the number one thing for both bosses and employees to have in each other is honesty?

- Is honesty the most important quality you are looking for when you are seeking to establish a new friendship? Why or why not?

- Why do we lie?

- How has someone's dishonesty hurt you? 

- How has someone being honest with you help guide you?

- How has lying impacted your relationship with God and others?

Take some time with your group to talk about these principles to turn off lying:

1. Talk less

2. Choose words wisely

3. The the truth, even if the cost is high

4. Admit- confess your lies

How can you support each other to stop lying? 

Connect with your community?

- who do you need to speak the truth in love to?

- who do you need to confess your lies to?

- how will turning of lying effect your relationhip with those who do not have a relatioship with Jesus?
