True Worship
Today I want to bring you one A.W. Tozer quote that appears in his book Whatever Happened to Worship, Tozer writes:“Oh, brother or sister, God calls us to worship, but in many instances we are in entertainment, just running a poor second to the theaters. That is where we are, even in the evangelical churches, and I don’t mind telling you that most of the people we say we are trying to reach will never come to a church to see a lot of amateur actors putting on a home talent show.” Oh boy… that made me think! One of our team members at Saturate shared this with me and caused me to ponder how the line between entertainment and worship can be blurred sometimes. Especially in Saturate where we want to have an edge that pushed people to think outside the box and be stretched to not just sit and observe others worshiping but to truly engage in a worship experience. We want them to embrace the majesty of our Holy, Loving, All-powerful God. Our creator and sustainer who desires to have a close intimate relationship with us! Our worship is a heartfelt expression of our thanks to Him for His grace and the way He loves us – right where we are. Wow…tonight when I sing along with the band I want it to be a truly authentic response to God like never before! Hope you can experience this along with me!Mark Ashley | REFLECTION
