When you see an untrained horse move out of fear and uncertainty and into strength and purpose, you’ll see it’s more than a demonstration—it’s a story. One that points to the transformation God wants for you.
In 1995, Todd Pierce pursued a world championship in bareback riding—and along the way found a ministry of faith, hope, and love in the connections he made with others.
Adults will experience Todd’s powerful illustration in the main gathering, and we’re preparing special moments for kids (babies – Grade 4) and Middle Schoolers (Grade 5 – 8)!
A live horse onstage definitely isn’t the norm at LCBC—but we believe it’s an opportunity to experience the freedom and transformation of Jesus in a fresh way. Here’s why we believe in it and why it’s worth seeing for yourself!
We want you to feel prepared for your visit to LCBC. Check out some of our most common questions. Still have questions? We’re happy to help – reach out!
Yes! There will be a pen set up onstage where Todd will train a horse in real time. It will be entirely unscripted, and each gathering will be different! Todd has trained hundreds of horses, and some of them have gone on to be support animals or top-ranking barrel racers! Learn more about why we're doing Horse Weekend.
Todd will be training a horse in each gathering at LCBC Manheim, where we will live-stream to other campuses. (Plus, there will be additional surprises at our locations!)
We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes early. That gives you time to park, grab a coffee, and drop off the kids!
Each gathering—and horse—will be unique, as will Todd’s process. We may touch on difficult or sensitive topics that younger ears may not be ready to hear. Your kids won’t miss out—they'll experience something special just for them! We’re planning age-appropriate teaching and fun activities led by leaders at kidVenture Island (babies – Grade 4) and Collide (Grade 5 – 8)! You can pre-register for quick, easy drop-off.
Yes! Todd has been training horses with Riding High Ministries since 2002, and he follows a common training process that is safe and humane. We’re confident in his experience and his ability to care for these horses!
No registration is needed, and it’s completely free to attend. We’d love to know if your family is coming, so feel free to pre-register!
LCBC (Lives Changed by Christ) is one church with multiple locations throughout Pennsylvania. Whatever your thoughts on God, experiences with church, or questions about faith, you're welcome here!
A powerful and spiritual experience showing divine love in a fresh way (with a horse). It’s a unique perspective on how Christianity connects to real life. You haven’t seen anything like this before.
Adam
Didn't think I'd ever be so moved by a horse! There is something about seeing the horse shift from fear to freedom that everyone will identify with.
Katrina
I saw a practical example of how God gently pursues us, is patient with us, and gives us the freedom to choose to trust him when we’re ready.
Justin
The live illustration, through a horse, shows how deep not only our hurt can go, but how much it limits us from moving forward until we are willing to surrender.
Kenny
This experience changed how I think about the way God interacts with us and changes lives.
Makaela
Many think God is disappointed in them. I try to tell them he’s patient, gentle, and kind, but it’s hard to picture—this visual will make it click.
