Greater Things is a two-year spiritual growth journey in generosity, focused on moving every person at our church toward greater open-handed, sacrificial giving and unleashing the financial resources needed to fuel the next season of mission advancement.
We believe God is calling our church to Greater Things — and it starts with us. We want each of us to courageously ask, “God, what do you want to do in me and through me?”
We're asking every person who calls LCBC home to fully engage — by praying, committing, sharing your story, and giving generously.
Advance Commitment Night is an evening where we are inviting all 25 LCBC locations, including Church Online, to gather together at the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA to lead the way and make our Greater Things commitment, and take time to worship together on November 8 at 6pm. Click here to register
Our primary goal is 100% engagement. We want every person at LCBC to take their next step in greater generosity — not a specific dollar amount, but a genuine step of faith through talking to God about what it looks like to live open-handed with all he’s entrusted to us. The best way to be all in on Greater Things is to commit, pray, share your story, and give.
You may have been part of past giving initiatives where you gave a one-time gift or gave “above and beyond” your usual tithes/offerings to make special initiatives possible. During these two years, there are no separate funds or special initiatives. Every gift that is given to LCBC will go to Greater Things, which includes all three areas of focus: Greater Reach, Greater Impact, and Greater Hope, in order to fuel the mission of introducing people to Jesus and together fully follow him.
Greater Things runs from December 2026 through December 2028. Any commitment you make will carry through the full two-year journey.
Absolutely. Be creative as you explore how your family can participate. You might have stocks, cryptocurrency, donor-advised funds, or other giving methods. You may also have stored resources — savings, real estate, retirement accounts — and we invite you to prayerfully ask God how he’d have you give out of those. Everyone who commits to Greater Things will receive quarterly updates on how your generosity is advancing the vision. We’ll share stories, milestones, and progress along the way so you can see firsthand what God is doing.
The best way to be all in on Greater Things is to give. But we know everyone is in a different place on their generosity journey, and we’d encourage you to take your next step — even if that’s giving for the very first time. Greater Things is a two-year spiritual growth journey in generosity for our whole church.
Greater Things is ultimately about a heart posture, not a dollar amount. It’s not about the size of the gift — it’s about taking your next step of obedience in the season you’re in. God may be calling you to make a commitment you don’t yet know how to fulfill, trusting that he’ll provide as you seek to honor him.

If you’re actively paying down debt, keep going — that’s wisdom and we commend you for it. Being in debt doesn’t remove us from the joy and discipline of giving, but what that looks like will be different for everyone. Giving is not about what God wants from you; it’s about what God wants for you.
