Temptation is sneaky. It lurks behind the choices you think no one sees, the compromises you justify to yourself, and the decisions that slowly pull you off the path God set for you.
Too often, we don’t realize we’ve fallen for temptation until it’s too late. But Jesus invites you to pray ahead of these moments—to ask for clarity, wisdom, and strength before temptation even has a chance to take hold.
This is a prayer of awareness. It’s saying, “God, I can’t see clearly on my own. I need your guidance.” Your temptations won’t disappear, but praying this way invites God to guide you away from the things that threaten to pull you off course so you can stay focused on the life he has for you.
Reflect: Where are you most vulnerable to drift right now?
Pray: God, search me and show me where I’m tempted to compromise. Help me see clearly and give me wisdom before I need rescue. Lead me away from what will harm me and give me strength to walk the path you’ve laid out. Fill my heart with your truth and guide my steps today. Amen.
