Read:
There’s an interesting juxtaposition in this Psalm. Verse 1 says that, with God, we have “all that we need.” We usually interpret that as exactly enough—and not the slightest bit more.
But verse 5 paints a different picture: “My cup overflows with blessings” (Psalm 23:5, NLT).
What God provides for you isn’t the bare minimum. It’s all. He doesn’t just fill your cup to the top. He gives and gives and gives, more than you’d think to ask for.
It’s all, and it’s all the time. Even when it feels like everything is working against you. Even when you don't feel like you've earned it. God isn’t standing at a distance saying, “Hang in there! This will blow over soon!” He’s preparing a table for you and pulling up a chair.
God’s way of providing for you doesn’t involve removing the hard things or giving you an escape route. He gives you peace, blessings, and protection while you’re still surrounded.
Reflect: Where has God blessed me that I haven’t noticed? What are the things he’s filled my cup with this week?
