With the ark of God arriving in Jerusalem, David sets up a temporary place of worship in Jerusalem. The tabernacle, which was a tent made for worship when the people were traveling from Egypt, is in Gibeon. Israel will not have a united place for worship until Solomon builds the temple.

To celebrate the arrival of the ark, David sings a song of praise; this becomes Psalms 105 and 106. In this time of celebration, David does not give himself credit, nor does he point out to God his own faithfulness; he points out the faithfulness of God toward him and the nation. David avoids having a self-centered relationship with God and instead has a God-centered one.
