Just as Hezekiah had done, Josiah celebrates the Passover. As always, it involves many animal sacrifices to cover the sins of the nation. Judah is a nation that exists between more powerful nations: Egypt to the south and Assyria and Babylon to the north. He is honored in death even though his death is in what was probably a foolish battle.
This is the way to live life! Josiah鈥檚 desire to obey God started at a young age and lasted throughout his entire life. As a result, he is mourned in death by those faithful to God. It may be too late for some to start at a young age, but anyone can begin today.
