Chapters 7 through 39 contain promises of Jesus coming to the earth as a baby, but they also speak of God鈥檚 judgment of those who reject God. Today鈥檚 chapter begins a section of Isaiah that argues for the greatness of God. It tells of God鈥檚 deliverance in Judah and his ability to carry out anything he promises. If God can create everything, why wouldn鈥檛 we rely on him? The last verse of the chapter is a favorite of many and tells of how relying on God is better than relying on ourselves.
