This is one of the most exciting chapters in the Bible. Paul is letting us know that we can successfully live lives that are righteous after trusting Jesus because we have the Holy Spirit living in us. It is the Holy Spirit who frees us from sin (verse 2), gives us power (verse 11), makes us God鈥檚 children (verse 14), assures us we are God鈥檚 children (verse 16) and gives us a taste of what eternity with God will be like (verse 23). Paul could now be righteous, not to earn God鈥檚 favor, but because of God鈥檚 favor. Nothing can separate us from God鈥檚 love!
You may not always feel you have all these good things from God, but you do because God says you do. The more you listen to the Holy Spirit in you, the more you will know how much God loves you.
