Have you ever messed up so badly that you thought, There’s no coming back from this? Whether it’s a major failure or something small that lingers in your heart, the difference often lies in how we respond.
Paul tells us there’s a crucial difference between shame and conviction. Shame says, “You are a failure.” Conviction says, “There is something better for you.” One drives us from God; the other draws us closer.
Consider Judas and Peter. Both failed Jesus on the same night. Judas let shame define him. Peter let conviction restore him. The question today is simple: What you’re feeling right now—is it drawing you toward God or pushing you away?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for grace and the power of conviction. Help me surrender my shame and move forward in the transforming love You freely offer. Amen.
