Hacksaw Ridge tells the story of Desmond Doss, a medic in World War II who refused to carry a weapon. Instead of fighting, he risked his life to save others. Time and again, he ran into danger to rescue wounded soldiers, motivated by compassion and a conviction to serve.
Reaching the lost doesn’t mean you have all the answers or that you’re fearless. It means you care enough to try. It means showing up for someone who’s hurting, extending an invitation, asking hard questions, and staying even when it’s uncomfortable.
And that prayer, “Help me get one more,” could become our daily rhythm. Who’s one person God’s put in your path? One life you can serve, love, and point to Jesus?
Pray: God, give me your heart for people. Help me see others the way you do and give me the courage to reach out, even when it’s hard. Help me love like you love. Amen.
