Some days, life feels like a stormy ocean, and you’re barely keeping your head above water. Anxiety, grief, sickness, fear, and exhaustion can feel like waves crashing over you, pushing you down, stealing your peace. The Bible calls these deep waters a picture of chaos—disorder that was never meant to be.
But Jesus walked on those waters. And he’s inviting you to step out in faith with him, just like he asked his disciple Peter in Matthew 14.
When you’re drowning in the waters of overwhelm, you can’t throw yourself a lifeline—only Jesus can. He meets you in the depths, offering you higher ground in the storm, peace in the panic, and a hand to pull you out. When you reach for him, he doesn’t let go.
Pray: Jesus, meet me in the chaos I’m facing. Give me courage to reach for you and trust that you can bring order to my life. Amen.
