1 Kings is a continuation of 2 Samuel. David is getting old and is about to die. His now oldest son, Adonijah makes his move to be David鈥檚 replacement. But Solomon is God鈥檚 choice, and David is persuaded to intervene and chooses Solomon.
This is a great illustration of people taking action to bring about God鈥檚 plan. Faith doesn鈥檛 always mean sitting back and letting God do all the work. Sometimes we need take action. It takes wisdom and prayer to know when to wait for God or when to step in.
