This chapter shows the pinnacle of God’s blessing on Israel. The nation and its king have become so famous a Queen had traveled 1200 miles just to see it! This was one of the things God was talking about in Genesis 12 when He promised to make Abraham a blessing to others. God would bless Abraham’s descendants, and others would be drawn into a relationship with God.
Probably everyone dreams of being so good at something that they become well-known for it. Maybe we dream it for our kids: fame, wealth, or power. The best thing for which to be thankful is God’s blessing. Rather than looking for ways to make ourselves famous, learn to let God be His own promoter through us.
