The Kingdom of Israel was divided between Rehoboam and Jeroboam. Rehoboam鈥檚 downfall was listening to immature advisors. It鈥檚 funny that even thousands of years ago, people were still arguing about taxes. God kept His promise to David by continuing to have one of David鈥檚 descendants as king, even if it was of a reduced kingdom.
It鈥檚 a good idea to seek advice from others when making an important decision, but our advisors should be people capable of giving good advice rather than those who will tell us what we want to hear. Seeking God鈥檚 advice would have been even better!
