Both Jeroboam and Rehoboam turn away from God and worship other gods, and both suffer for their disobedience. Jeroboam knew enough to seek out a prophet of God, but still didn鈥檛 follow God.
It鈥檚 easy to fall into a pattern of seeking God鈥檚 input but not taking His advice. People read their Bibles, but don鈥檛 change as a result. People get godly advice from church leaders or friends, but continue to make the same mistakes.
