God’s voice isn’t often a literal, audible voice, and it isn’t always dramatic or immediate. In fact, it’s typically after slowing down, reflecting, and creating space that we begin to notice his voice. This requires stepping away from the hustle, turning down the volume, and getting comfortable with being still.
Silence can feel uncomfortable, especially when we’re facing a significant decision, but it’s part of the process of learning to listen. God knows your struggles and meets you in them, even when you feel frustrated or anxious.
Practical habits help: journaling your prayers and thoughts, taking quiet moments to reflect on Scripture, and even reviewing past decisions to see where God might have been guiding you. Each time you practice, your ability to hear God strengthens. You’ll begin to recognize patterns and prompts that confirm he’s actively involved, even when life feels messy.
Reflect: What steps can you take to make space for God to speak in your life this week?
Pray: God, teach me to slow down, listen, and notice your voice in the small moments of my day. Amen.
