Read:
God is mighty and powerful. Our minds can't fully grasp who he is and what he can do.
But notice what Paul says: that same mighty power is at work within you.
Just stop and think about that for a second.
The same God who spoke the universe into existence is working inside you—not just around you, not just through other people, and not because you've earned it. By his grace, he has chosen to make his home in you and accomplish his purposes through you. Isn’t that incredible?
It's easy to believe God can do incredible things in someone else's life. But have you ever considered that he wants to do something extraordinary in yours, too?
This is usually where we put a lid on God. We have limited ideas of what he can do, and so we shrink the possibilities down to what we can pull off on our own.
But this is also exactly where faith can grow. It stretches when you stop measuring what God can do by what you can't and instead start trusting that he's bigger than anything you can imagine. God isn't asking you to believe in yourself more. He's asking you to trust him more.
And when he does more than you ever thought possible, there's no mistaking who gets the credit: him.
Pray: God, reveal to me any limitations I’ve put on you. I believe in your power and what you want to do in me so you can accomplish greater things through me. I want my life to be a reflection of you that puts your power on display. Amen.
