Read:
• James 4:8
• Luke 5:12-16
Big Idea: Spending regular time with God helps you know him better and become more like him.
We often say we want a “relationship with God,” but relationships require time, attention, and intention. James 4:8 reminds us that when we take a step toward God, He meets us right there. He doesn’t make us earn His attention—He’s already ready to be with us.
Luke 5:16 shows us that even Jesus, who was God in human form, regularly stepped away from the crowds and miracles to spend time with His Father. If Jesus needed time with God, how much more do we?
This habit isn’t about checking a box. It’s about opening your heart to a relationship that brings peace, direction, identity, and love. Start with just 10 minutes—read a passage, reflect, and talk with God like a friend. Your consistency matters more than doing it perfectly.
Challenge:
Spend 5 minutes reading Scripture (try John 1 or a Psalm), and 5 minutes talking honestly with God. Make a plan to do this daily.
