Read: Exodus 3:1-12
Head
When God called Moses, Moses immediately gave reasons why he was the wrong person. He questioned his ability, his influence, and even his ability to speak. Moses saw his limitations. God saw his power.
The amazing thing about Moses' calling is that God doesn’t remove every weakness before using him. Moses never becomes a naturally confident leader. Instead, he learns that God's presence is greater than his limitations.
Many people believe calling begins when they discover their strengths. Moses shows us that calling begins when we discover God's faithfulness. God doesn’t choose people because they have all the right qualifications. He chooses people who are willing to trust him with what they lack.
Heart
We often disqualify ourselves before God ever does. We think we’re too inexperienced, too ordinary, too broken, or too late. But God's pattern throughout Scripture is to use imperfect people who depend on him.
What excuse have you been giving God?
Hands
Write down one thing you feel inadequate to do.
Instead of focusing on your ability, pray specifically for God's presence and take one step forward.
Pray: God, thank you that my weaknesses do not limit your purposes. Help me stop hiding behind excuses and trust that your presence is enough. Use my life for things bigger than I could accomplish on my own. Amen.
