Can you imagine calling the president to vent about a bad day at work? Or your favorite athlete to complain about being stuck in traffic? Of course not. They're too busy, too far removed to care about the details of our lives. Many people view God the same way.
But Jesus shattered that image when he taught us to pray to God as “Father.” Not a distant ruler, but a close, loving parent. He’s the Father who wants to hear about your day, your struggles, your joys.
So where in your life are you holding back, assuming God doesn’t care? This week, lean into a deeper relationship with him. Talk to him like the good Father he is.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for inviting me into a close relationship with you. Help me to approach you with openness and trust. Remind me that you delight in hearing from me, about everything. Amen.
