Read:

When we think of a New Year, we often set resolutions: big, daunting goals with a vision in mind—that by the end of the year, you’ll be a transformed person. You’ll get the promotion, lose the weight, buy the house, pay off the debt.

But sometimes growth is quiet, like a seed pushing roots underground before you ever see it sprout. Think about areas where you’ve stretched, changed, or matured this year—maybe in relationships, character, or faith.

God began a new work in your life the moment you put your trust in him, and he’s playing the long game. Growth, big or small, is God shaping you, sometimes in ways you don’t even notice at first because they happen so gradually. The more we recognize it, the more we trust that he’s continuing to work in our lives, even in seasons that feel ordinary. Take a moment to celebrate the ways God has worked in you this year, big and small.

Reflect: In what ways did you grow—spiritually, emotionally, or relationally—this past year?

Pray: God, thank you for the ways I’ve grown over the past year. Keep shaping my heart and guiding my steps so I can continue to grow in your grace and knowledge this year. Amen.
