Realizing Our Need For God
By now we've read through the Sermon on the Mount a few times, and perhaps God has used the first line Jesus said to catch you:
鈥淕od blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs."
We are utterly dependent on God:
It's God who created us in the first place.
He's the One who woke us up this morning and gives us our next breath.
It's through his grace we are forgiven and healed.
It's because of his love that we can love him and others.
It's only through his spirit we can even know him.
Thankfully, we absolutely can depend on God. So let's recognize our need for God, thank him for always coming through, and lean into him moment-by-moment.
