Day 11 | Don’t Wait for “After”

Read

What’s on your “bucket list”—the things you hope you get to do before you die? Maybe you want to go skydiving, visit all fifty states, write a book, or start a business.

But life happens fast. You have these great aspirations, but slowly each one starts getting put off until “after.” After you graduate. After you pay off the mortgage. After the kids move out. After you retire. Before too long, you’ve got a growing pile of “afters” in your wake and very few things crossed off your bucket list.

Ecclesiastes isn’t telling you to stop paying off your debt or drop out of school—but it is reminding us not to put off our relationship with God because we think we’ll have time later. Ecclesiastes 12:6 (NLT) says, “Remember your Creator now while you are young, before the silver cord of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken. Don’t wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well.”]

God knows every day of our lives, but we don’t. If we put off fully following Jesus, there’s a whole lifetime of grace, hope, and freedom to miss out on—and a whole eternity by his side.

If you’ve been putting off the decision to follow Jesus, it’s time to stop waiting. We’re here for you whenever you’re ready—just reach out, and we’ll come alongside you to celebrate and support you!

Pray: God, I’m done putting my relationship with you on the back burner. I don’t want to wait until later—I want to follow you with my whole heart right now, and every day for the rest of my life. Amen.
