Advent, the 24 days before Christmas, is a time of sacred pause. We pause. Simply to prepare our hearts to receive Christ anew, to reflect what it means that He came for us.   Truth be told, perhaps the greatest irony of the season is that our experience of Advent is typically anything but a “sacred pause”!  Rather, the tyranny of the urgent seems to usurp our priorities like no other time of the year-- how many more shopping days before Christmas, is there time to get those cards mailed, will the house get cleaned before family visits?? The list goes on.   In order to make Advent what it is, we need to exercise great intentionality. Join us for a 3 week Advent discussion group to delve into the names of Jesus as revealed by Isaiah. We will be guided on our journey by pastor and bible teacher, J.D. Greer, as he takes a deeper look at Jesus as Emmanuel, our Wonderful Counselor, the Everlasting Father, and the great I Am. Ultimately, our heart is to uncover what it means that Jesus entered our darkness and support each other in receiving HOPE like never before.
