Each November, as a church family we unleash generosity onto our communities through our annual Be Rich campaign. One of the ways we show love to our neighbors is through the act of serving. Each LCBC location partners with vetted nonprofit organizations that can use additional resources to improve their communities, particularly in the holiday season.
With hundreds of unique ways to serve this year, it can be a little intimidating to know how to choose the right serve opportunity. Check out this simple step-by-step plan to find the right serve opportunity for you!
Step 1: Find Your Passion
God has gifted each of us uniquely, which means we’ll find varying serve opportunities that fulfill each of us differently. Spend a few minutes thinking of what you’re passionate about - is it working with seniors? Or is it helping to ensure children have a hot meal? Ask God to speak to you on how he may best use you in this season. Make a list of your top ideas or if you don’t have anything specific in mind, be open to where you may be needed most!
Step 2: Match with an Organization
Now that you have an idea of what speaks to you, check out the list of Be Rich organizations your LCBC location has partnered with to find an organization that can put your gifts and abilities to use. Don’t worry if you don’t live in Pennsylvania - there are churches all over the country participating in Be Rich this year! Simply filter by a church in your area.
Step 3: Pick a Date
Once you’ve selected an organization that you’d like to serve, click on an opportunity and sign up - it’s that simple! Make sure to mark your calendar. Also, take a moment to pray and ask God to bless your time serving - that it may be a positive impact on you and our partner organization!
