How to Get the Most Out of Impact PA

Impact PA is about more than just completing a serve project – it's about making a difference and showing people the love of Jesus.

When it comes to introducing people to Jesus, sometimes actions speak louder than words. That's why Impact PA exists. Impact PA is one day dedicated to living out the example of selflessness Jesus set for us. By getting out of church buildings and into the community, serving and meeting practical needs, we can impact more people with the love of Jesus.

It’s about so much more than completing a serve project, and there will be opportunities along the way to make Impact PA even more meaningful. Here are 3 tips for getting the most out of Impact PA:

How to get the most out of impact PA

Don’t miss a moment – keep these things in mind as you prepare and show up for your serve project:

1. Pray

You can get the most out of Impact PA before you’ve even put on your t-shirt by taking a moment to pray. Here are some things you can pray for:

  • Everyone who is leading a serve project
  • Safety for everyone who is participating in serve projects
  • For a positive impact on local communities and the state
  • For Jesus to be made known to others through our actions

2. Engage with others

Chances are, you’re going to be part of a group of people – some familiar, some not. Impact PA is a great chance to get to know people and build relationships. Don’t let yourself get so focused on the task at hand that you miss the chance to connect! Even a simple conversation can make a big difference in someone’s day.

3. Share pictures and stories on the LCBC App

Did you know you can share your Impact PA experience with others on the LCBC App? With our Impact PA toolbox, you can check in, share pictures and stories from your serve project, and even sign up for other opportunities! It’s a great way to create a sense of connection and show others what God is doing across the state.

4. Seize the opportunity to share about Jesus & our church

As you interact with people during your serve project, you might get asked questions about why you’re there, what group you’re with, etc. This is a great opportunity to tell people about LCBC and our mission to introduce people to Jesus and together fully follow him – and invite them to a gathering!

As you share about that, you may find yourself with the opportunity to share the Gospel and talk someone through trusting Jesus! This may be out of your comfort zone, but don’t shy away from it. You never know how God might use you to make the biggest impact on someone else’s life – and their eternity.

How do I talk someone through trusting Jesus?

While you may have already trusted Jesus, you may not have needed to explain the process to someone else. Just remember ABC:

  • Admit that you have sinned (Romans 3:23)
  • Believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins (Romans 5:8)
  • Choose the gift of forgiveness and new life (Romans 10:9

Make an impact that lasts longer than a day

Our hope is that Impact PA doesn’t just impact a community for an hour, or even for a day – but that it leaves a lasting impression on what following Jesus is really about. Taking even an hour to serve can make a huge difference, and we can’t wait to see the stories that will come out of Impact PA!
