In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, Giving Tuesday offers us a meaningful opportunity to step away from the chaos, pause, and focus on the importance of generosity and giving back to others.

When is Giving Tuesday and what is it?

Giving Tuesday began in 2012 as a simple idea: to set aside a day dedicated to generosity, following the consumer-focused days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The movement quickly gained traction as a global initiative encouraging people to give back in meaningful ways.

Whether through donations, volunteering, or acts of kindness, Giving Tuesday has since grown into a worldwide phenomenon, engaging millions of participants across more than 80 countries. Its mission is clear: to inspire collective action that transforms communities and spreads hope.

Why participate in Giving Tuesday?

We believe that, as Christians, we are called to make our love easy to see to those around us. In fact, we were created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10)! Demonstrating generosity is one of the ways we can do that. When we open our hands to share what we’ve been given, we not only meet immediate needs but also share hope, love, and encouragement in tangible ways. Giving Tuesday opens up the opportunity to do just that!

Where should I give?

If you’re not sure where to start this Giving Tuesday, check out some organizations we partner with that are doing incredible work near and far:

  • Easy to See One opportunity to make a local impact is to give to the Easy to See fund here at LCBC. We have hundreds of partner organizations in our local communities and 100% of donations received are poured into local organizations that support our communities.
  • Convoy of Hope Convoy of Hope responds to natural disasters across the US by bringing aid and relief to those affected in their greatest moments of need. We’ve seen Convoy of Hope already on the ground in North Carolina and Florida this year following the devastating hurricanes that ravaged the southeast. Convoy of Hope provided groceries and other necessities to those in need in the affected areas.
  • World Vision World Vision works on a global scale to provide essential food and aid to children impacted by natural disasters or conflict. As a church, we support many children through World Vision, and they are on the front lines responding to crisis. Giving to World Vision helps to provide the record 50 million children who have been forced from their homes due to conflict, hunger, war, and natural disasters. World Vision provides access to health care, clean water, food, shelter, and emergency supplies for these children and their families.

Giving Tuesday makes a difference!

Giving Tuesday is another great way to make our love easy to see and bring hope and help to those who need it most this holiday season! By participating and giving to local organizations, you can provide much-needed help during the holiday season and share the love of Jesus.
