In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, Giving Tuesday offers us a meaningful opportunity to step away from the chaos, pause, and focus on the importance of generosity and giving back to others.
When is Giving Tuesday and what is it?
Giving Tuesday began in 2012 as a simple idea: to set aside a day dedicated to generosity, following the consumer-focused days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The movement quickly gained traction as a global initiative encouraging people to give back in meaningful ways.
Whether through donations, volunteering, or acts of kindness, Giving Tuesday has grown into a worldwide phenomenon, engaging millions of participants across more than 80 countries. Its mission is clear: to inspire collective action that transforms communities and spreads hope.
Why participate in Giving Tuesday?
We believe that, as Christians, we are called to make our love easy to see to those around us. In fact, we were created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10)!
Demonstrating generosity is one of the ways we can do that. When we open our hands to share what we鈥檝e been given, we not only meet immediate needs but also share hope, love, and encouragement in tangible ways. Giving Tuesday opens up the opportunity to do just that!
Where should I give?
If you鈥檙e not sure where to start this Giving Tuesday, check out some organizations we partner with that are doing incredible work near and far:
- Our Local Community Partners: We've partnered with hundreds of organizations across Pennsylvania who are doing valuable work to meet needs in our communities. 100% of donations received go directly to these partners as a way to come alongside them and support their impact.
- Convoy of Hope: Convoy of Hope responds to natural disasters across the US by bringing aid and relief to those affected in their greatest moments of need. They provide groceries and other necessities to those in need in the affected areas.
- World Vision World Vision works on a global scale to provide essential food and aid to children impacted by natural disasters or conflict. As a church, we support many children through World Vision, and they are on the front lines responding to crisis. Giving to World Vision helps to provide the record 50 million children affected by hunger, war, and natural disasters, providing access to healthcare, clean water, food, shelter, and emergency supplies for them and their families.
