When it comes to the prayers you pray, do you tend to play it safe? Maybe you ask God to bless what you're already comfortable doing or to fix things just enough that life feels easier. Maybe you’re not sure God really wants to hear from you or you’re afraid of what he might say. Maybe you’ve prayed boldly before and felt disappointed when the answer didn’t come the way you hoped.

Hebrews 4:16 tells a different story. You’re invited to come boldly to God, with the confidence that he will hear you and answer you. The prayers that might feel too big for you aren't too big for him. And there’s no limit to what he can accomplish when we ask.

And if that makes you feel a little scared, that’s normal. Just remember: God is powerful, but he also loves you. He wants the best for you. He won’t leave you hanging or bring an outcome that does more harm than good.

By shying away from prayers that feel big or risky, you aren't just avoiding discomfort—you're missing out on the chance to watch God deepen your trust, reshape your heart, and move in ways you could never dream of. Safe prayers keep God at a distance. Bold prayers invite him close.

Pray: God, I admit that I often play it safe with you. I pray what feels comfortable instead of what’s honest. I avoid asking big things because I’m afraid of disappointment, of change, of what you might ask of me. Help me trust that you are powerful, loving, and able to handle anything I bring to you. Give me the courage to pray boldly, trust your response, and openness to follow where you lead. Amen.
