When Joshua becomes the leader of Israel, God challenges the people to both action and faith. The action is to occupy the land. The faith is to meditate on God’s Word.
James 2:26 says, “Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.” We will always act according to what we truly believe. If we believe God’s ways are best, we will act as God wants. If we believe we will be happier by doing something wrong, we will do something wrong. God’s challenge to Israel applies to us as well. Do we have the courage to move forward based on what God has told us?
