Day 2 | What Faithfulness Really Looks Like

Read:

Joseph didn’t just wake up one day as a hero of the Christmas story. Joseph faced a choice. Mary’s pregnancy put his reputation, his future, and his plans at risk. From the outside, this didn’t look like God’s favor. It looked like embarrassment, infidelity, and unanswered questions. Joseph had options: he could walk away, protect himself, choose the path that made the most sense.

Instead, Joseph chose trust.

He trusted God when obedience cost him control. He trusted the process when clarity was limited. He kept moving forward even when the plan sounded impossible and looked irresponsible. And that decision changed everything.

Faithfulness doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like staying when it would be easier to leave. Obeying when it would be safer to explain yourself. Trusting God even when his plan feels confusing, inconvenient, or downright risky.

Joseph never got a front-row seat to see how it would all turn out. But his willingness to trust God in the middle of uncertainty positioned him to be part of something far bigger than he could see.

Reflect: Where might God be asking for trust instead of certainty right now?

Pray: God, I admit that I want clarity before obedience. Help me trust you even when your plan feels uncomfortable or confusing. Give me the courage to stay faithful when walking away would be easier. I want to trust you with the parts of my life that don’t make sense yet. Amen.
