Simeon had been waiting his whole life for the Messiah. And on an ordinary day in the temple, he finally sees what he’s been longing for: a baby in Mary’s arms. In that moment, he immediately understood who Jesus was and what his arrival meant. This child isn’t only the fulfillment of God’s promise—he's the Savior of the world.
God’s rescue doesn’t stop at borders or backgrounds. It spans generations, nations, and every kind of person—including you. The light Simeon saw in Jesus reaches farther than he could have dreamed at the time, and that light has reached your life, too! And you can carry this light into the lives of those around you.
Reflect: Who around you is feeling discouraged, disconnected, or unsure of where they stand with God? How can you encourage them with the hope of Jesus today?
Pray: God, thank you for letting your love reach me. Help me be someone who carries that light to others, even in small ways. Amen.
