Bible Reading / The 7 Temptations You're Probably Fighting

Day 3 | Scrolling and Feeling Worse Every Time

Read:

  • Galatians 6:4

You opened the app for two minutes. You closed it feeling smaller, angrier, or more anxious—worse. That happens every time, but you keep going back.

It's easy to blame the phone. But the real addiction isn't to the screen. It's to the comparison. You scroll past the highlight reel of someone else's life—their body, their relationship, their success, their vacation—and walk away feeling like you're behind. Like you're less. Like everyone else figured something out that you haven't.

Comparison is a thief. And every morning you hand it the keys before you even get out of bed.

The antidote to comparison isn't willpower. It's locking in on what God is doing in your life—the actual, unfiltered version of it. When you focus there, you stop needing to measure your actual life against someone else's curated version of theirs

Pray: God, help me pay attention to my own life—the one you actually gave me, not the one I wish I had. Quiet the noise of comparison and help me find real satisfaction in the work you've put in front of me. Amen.
