Read: Psalm 119:105
God's Word is described as a “lamp” to your feet. A lamp can fully illuminate a
small room, but it won’t show you the entire way out of a pitch-black cave.
You’ve probably found yourself wishing God would just show you the whole plan
instead of just the next couple steps. But his Word usually meets us in the now, not
the five-year forecast.
It’s an exercise in trust. If you trust God to lead you in the right direction—out of
your cave, for example—you don’t need to see the full path ahead. You just need
God’s voice, guiding you and lighting the way one step at a time. Over time, you’ll
stop depending on knowing exactly what’s coming—and that will free you up to
focus on where he has you right now.
Practice: Memorize Psalm 119:105. When facing a decision today, ask, “What does
God want me to do in this moment?” Take just that next step and trust him for
tomorrow.
