“Every man for himself.” You’ve probably heard this before—and with it comes an unspoken permission to cut corners. It doesn’t really matter if you cheat or bend the rules as long as you get ahead in the end.
But deep down, you know there's a better way to live. God calls you to something different. He cares that your actions reflect his values. Even when no one is watching. Even when it costs you something. Even when it means someone else gets ahead. That’s what integrity means.
Samuel’s story reminds us that God looks at the heart, not just what’s on the surface. And James tells us that hearing God’s Word means little if we don’t live it out. Integrity is about showing up faithfully in the small, everyday choices—and those small choices shape the man you’re becoming.
Reflect: Where have you been tempted to take the easy way instead of living with integrity? How could being consistent in your small choices change your life?
