Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s moving forward even when your heart is pounding and your stomach is tight. But courage is hard—and it’s a lot easier to play it safe. But every time you shy away from opportunities to show true courage, even in situations that seem inconsequential, you miss out on the fullness of God’s strength in your life.
God doesn’t call you to fake bravery. He calls you to lean on him. Joshua was told to be strong and courageous, not because he had all the answers or a perfect plan, but because God’s presence was with him. Paul reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power, love, and self-discipline.
Courage is stepping into the life God made you for and trusting that he will equip you in the moment.
Reflect: Where is fear holding you back from the man God is calling you to be? How could leaning on God’s power change the way you act in those moments?
Pray: God, replace my fear with your power and love. Help me step into the life you’ve called me to without holding back. Amen.
