Read:

Peter is standing in the same city where Jesus was crucified, speaking to people who may have mocked him, dismissed him, or shouted for his death just weeks prior. He could’ve used his platform to belittle them—to say, “See? I told you so. You were wrong.” Instead, he gives them the exact invitation Jesus called him to give: Turn away from your old life. Be baptized. Run to Jesus and be filled with his Spirit.

Why would he do that? Because Jesus doesn’t save his grace for people who get it right the first time. His grace is for people who know they've gotten it wrong—but want desperately to make it right.

And when the crowd hears Peter’s words, they know they need that grace. And thousands respond that very day.

That's what's so mind-blowing about Jesus. The very people who had a hand in rejecting Jesus are now being invited to receive his mercy. That’s how deep his love goes, and how unshakeable it is.

If there are parts of your story you wish you could erase, or if you feel like you’ve pushed God away too many times, the message of Jesus is still the same. His forgiveness is available to you, too. His grace can be the doorway to a new start for you.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you that your mercy reaches farther than my failure. Thank you that forgiveness is still available, even for the parts of my story I wish I could undo. Help me receive your grace deeply and live in the freedom only you can give. Amen.
