Gather

We gather weekly as a community to talk to God through worship and prayer and to hear from God through Scripture. This helps us stay focused on what Jesus has called us to do so together we can fully follow him. These moments help us focus on what matters most and give us the courage to live it out together.

Baptism

Baptism is a public way to show your faith in Jesus. It’s a powerful symbol of the life change he has started in someone’s heart. When we baptize others, we’re stepping into Jesus’ call in Matthew 28:19 to go and make disciples.

Wyatt & Shawn’s Story

Wyatt and Shawn’s stories are connected in a powerful way—Wyatt invited his dad, Shawn, to church, and together they discovered the life-changing love of Jesus. One found direction, the other found hope, and both found faith that lasts.

Wyatt's Story

"Before I trusted in Jesus, my life was heading in the wrong direction. I felt lost and empty, like there was a hole in my heart that I couldn’t fill no matter what I tried. Through it all, Jesus was still there for me, guiding me even when I didn’t realize it. When I prayed for the negativity to be removed from my life, God gave me the chance and the strength to walk away. Now, after trusting Jesus, I finally feel complete. I have direction, joy, and peace in him."

Shawn's Story

"After an injury five years ago, I lost hope that things would ever feel normal again. Activities I once loved became difficult. I turned to alcohol, made questionable choices, and questioned my faith in God. My turning point came when my son, Wyatt, invited me to LCBC for the first time. I was literally choked up during the service, and something inside me shifted. I had come to realize, without a doubt, that the only way to God was through Jesus. I’ve learned to trust him no matter what, and to talk to him about everything."

Horse Weekend

This year, we got to do something we’ve never done before as a church: we invited champion rider and horse expert Todd Pierce to train horses live onstage. But it was more than a demonstration—it became a powerful picture of how God works in our lives, helping us break free from shame, trauma, and self-doubt and step into the purpose and freedom he has for us. It was an unforgettable weekend of life change!

John’s Story

“I’d been asking questions about faith for a long time, looking for answers on Reddit and in Facebook groups. I started checking out churches in the area but still couldn’t find the answers I was looking for. I was almost ready to give up and just continue living my life. One day, I went to breakfast with my wife and son, and we were waited on by our favorite waitress. When she told us she attended LCBC, I got curious. I looked up LCBC and watched a gathering online. I watched as a gentleman saddled horses that have never been saddled before. I’ve ridden horses before, and I know that getting a horse to take a saddle and a bit takes months of relationship-building to do—and here’s this person doing it in 30 minutes! All I could think about was the old saying 'You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force them to drink.' I felt like I was the horse. I knew then that I needed more in my life. If I could trust in Jesus, maybe he would pour his love into me, and I would finally be good enough for his love and everybody else's. Jesus has shown me that I am good enough, even with all my past. He's always loved me, even when I couldn’t feel it. I’m calmer, I have more patience in my marriage and as a parent. I ask Jesus to help me when I start feeling anger or shame, and I can feel him taking it away.”

Impact PA

On May 17, we set aside a day to step into our communities and make God’s love easy to see for our neighbors. Thousands of people joined in, serving across the state and making a real difference in the lives of those around them through simple, practical acts of kindness.

The Difference Impact PA Makes

"Thank you so much for serving us for Impact PA. It was a huge help to have such a large team tackle daunting jobs around our complex. We have not been able to hire additional staff since we relocated, and volunteering is becoming less and less on people’s minds. To have a team from LCBC come lend a hand was so encouraging to me and my family! Saturdays are some of our busiest days, and there were a few times throughout the day that I thought of canceling, but we knew we really needed the help. Even with chaos and traffic all throughout the area, LCBC's volunteers took our list of jobs and made them happen, freeing me up to tend to customers. LCBC came and made a huge impact on us and all of those around. They worked around our customers, laughing and keeping the atmosphere fun, even as they did some dirty jobs. (They even made cleaning the bathrooms seem fun!) It was a huge encouragement to my team and my family. Thank you so much for making this day possible and including us."

Hope Packs

We assembled Hope Packs for prison inmates and correctional officers across the state to show them Jesus’ love for them—because we believe everyone, including those often overlooked by society, is seen, loved, and valued by God.

David’s Story

Some inmates who receive Hope Packs write back to us. Here's what one inmate, David, shared with us about how a Hope Pack impacted him:

"I emptied the bag onto my bunk and saw the little card that said, ‘You are loved, you are seen, you are valued.' It brought a tear to my eyes. My family hasn't visited me in the 15 years I have been in prison, and it feels like they don't love or value me. But that card reminded me that God loves me. As I was looking at everything else, my eyes and mind kept going back to that card. I read it over and over again. Then it dawned on me to turn it over, and man, am I glad I did! Little did I know someone took the time to sign it. I thought it was just a simple cookie-cutter card to say God loves me, but this little personal printed name made this card worth a million dollars."

David’s story is proof that God uses the simplest things—even a signature on a card—to remind people that they are loved, seen, and valued.

Haley’s Story

"I didn’t grow up in a Christian home and knew nothing about Jesus. My childhood was shaped by mental health struggles and substance abuse, and as I got older, I looked for happiness in all the wrong places. But no matter what I tried, I always felt empty—angry, lost, and alone. Four years ago, I lost my dad to alcoholism, and it shattered me. I knew I wanted something different, so I moved to a new city and started over. That’s when God started getting my attention. LCBC’s reels about Jesus kept popping up on my feed, and I’d find myself in tears. One night, sitting on my bedroom floor, I finally surrendered everything to Jesus. For the first time, I felt peace. Since then, Jesus has been rebuilding my life piece by piece. He’s restoring my identity, showing me that my compassion is a strength and that my pain has a purpose. I’ll never stop sharing what he’s done for me—how he reached into my darkness, took my hand, and led me home."

Reaching Our State

We’re passionate about sharing the hope of Jesus across Pennsylvania. Our goal is to reach more people, in more communities, so they can experience life change through Jesus.

To continue reaching new people in new communities, we launched LCBC Altoona last spring—bringing the hope of Jesus to even more people.
  • 317 people joined us for launch weekend
  • An average of 244 people join us there each weekend
We took a big step in reaching more people with Jesus in the Sinking Spring area. After completing construction on their permanent building in April, we’ve already seen:
  • 889 new first time guests
  • 517 average weekend attendance—a 102% increase!
LCBC Hanover’s attendance is now averaging 824 people—a 10% increase from last year! We’ve nearly completed a building expansion that has doubled their building footprint, giving them plenty of room to grow.
  • 400-seat auditorium completed in July
  • New kidMinistry spaces opened in November

Jeremiah & Lisamarie's Story

“We first came to LCBC Altoona on the day it launched, bringing our two boys with us. We weren't invited by anyone—we had just been at Chuck E. Cheese the week before, saw the signs for LCBC, and decided to give it a try. By the time we left, our boys were smiling ear to ear, and we knew we'd be back. Later on, over breakfast with the Campus Pastor, Corey, and his family, we shared a little of our journey. About 12 years ago, we experienced some really bad church hurt that made us question the faith we were raised in. We were living in Arizona and eventually found a new church much like LCBC. It was there that we slowly rediscovered our relationship with Jesus. God called us back to Pennsylvania, but we were nervous about finding a church to plug into. We searched for months, looking for a Jesus-centered, others-focused church, but we started to lose hope. Coming to LCBC has shown us that we're right where God wants us to be, and we have hope for our family living in PA again.”

Live Generously

When we fully follow Jesus and honor God with what he’s given us, we’re putting him first in our hearts through obedience, love, worship, and trust. Living generously and giving faithfully helps us advance our mission as a church together.

We prioritize accountability in how we manage these resources. LCBC is certified by the ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability), which ensures we uphold high standards in board governance, financial management, and stewardship. Visit ECFA.org to learn more.

The 90-Day Tithing Challenge

At LCBC, the 90-Day Tithing Challenge is an opportunity to help people experience the freedom and joy that come from trusting Jesus with every part of life—including finances. Through the challenge, we walk alongside individuals as they take this step of trust, offering encouragement and celebrating how God provides and works in their lives along the way.

People took the challenge this year—and more than half are still giving after completing it!

Bethany & Aaron’s Story

"My husband, Aaron, and I go to the Lebanon Campus. I had grown up going to church and had learned about tithing, but it was always an area I struggled with. I knew God would sustain me, but I wasn’t taking the steps to respond in obedience and fully trust him to provide. One weekend, Jason shared a message on tithing. He showed us a visual of two tables with fruits and vegetables on them—one table had 90% of the produce on it, and the other had 10%. That 10% visually represented the tithe that God asks us to trust him with. When I saw what 10% really looked like in that moment, I suddenly felt rather silly for holding on so tightly to the first 10% of my income. At one point, Jason said, 'You can’t receive more of God’s blessings with closed fists.' After thinking about what that meant, and remembering just how much God has blessed me and my husband with, something just clicked. My husband looked at me after the service and asked me what I was thinking. Rather candidly, I replied, 'You know God is calling us to tithe, right?' We talked more and decided we would commit to the 90-Day Tithing Challenge. Here's the crazy part. Aaron and I had been trying to buy a home for over a year—but so many banks kept denying us pre-approval due to our financial circumstances. But the week we committed to tithing, we got pre-approved to be able to look at homes! And about 77 days into the challenge, we closed on a house. We were blown away, not only at how God honored our obedience, but with the timing of it all. We still can’t fully believe it. It’s truly a God thing, and we give him all the glory!"

BETHANY & AARONLebanon

At LCBC, we’re passionate about partnering with like-minded churches to help introduce people to Jesus across the state. The Advantage brings pastors together in authentic communities where they find encouragement, share ideas, and learn from one another—all with the shared goal of reaching more people with the message of Jesus. This year, we connected with over 70 churches in Pennsylvania and beyond.

Thank you!

This year has been an incredible reminder of what God can do when a church stays focused on Jesus and follows his call together. We’ve seen lives changed and communities strengthened as people have stepped into faith, served others, and grown in their relationship with God. Every act of faith and every moment of obedience has added up to something far bigger than ourselves.

Thank you for your faithfulness, your generosity, and your willingness to be the Church wherever God has placed you. Because of you, more people are encountering Jesus, more communities are being served, and more lives are being transformed. We can’t wait to see what God will do next—together fully following him and living out the mission he’s called us to. Your love and dedication are making an impact that’s impossible to miss!
