Head
Jonah's story is often remembered because he ran from God and ended up inside a great fish. But the deeper story is about God's patience with a person whose heart needed changing.
Jonah obeyed God eventually, but he still struggled with God's mercy toward people he didn't think deserved it. The book ends with Jonah outside the city, angry that God forgave Nineveh. Jonah's problem wasn't just his direction—it was his heart.
The good news is that God didn't give up on Jonah. He pursued him, corrected him, and invited him into a bigger understanding of grace. God cares not only about where we go but about who we become along the way.
Heart
Sometimes we think repentance is simply turning away from bad behavior. But biblical repentance is deeper—it's allowing God to transform the desires and attitudes beneath our actions.
Where's God inviting you to not just change your actions, but allow him to change your heart?

“Is there any area where I am doing what you ask but resisting what you want to change in me?”
Write down what he reveals.
Pray: God, thank you for your patience with me. Continue shaping my heart, not just my actions. Help me receive your grace and extend that same grace to others. Amen.
