The early church didn’t just talk about generosity—they lived it. People shared what they had so no one went without. When someone lacked food, shelter, or support, others stepped in—even if it meant giving up their own comfort—because they understood that following Jesus meant caring for each other in real, practical, and sometimes sacrificial ways.
Living wide open today looks a lot like that. It's not about having extras to give; it’s about trusting God with what you already have and being willing to step up when someone else needs it most. It might mean covering an expense for someone, offering a friend your time when your schedule is already full, or lending a hand without expecting anything in return.
When we give like this—time, attention, resources, encouragement—we show the people around us what God’s love really looks like. Those small, everyday sacrifices, made from a place of care and commitment, make God’s presence and love visible in the world.
Pray: God, help me hold what I have with open hands today. Show me real ways to share my time, my resources, and my care with the people around me. Teach me to trust you as I step into generosity.
